Introduction
Fashion Designing is a creative expression that has a high profile in today’s world. It is fast becoming an appealing and lucrative profession and the rise in fashion consciousness among people has led the fashion industry to grow spectacularly all over the world. This in turn has led to greater demands for competent fashion designers.

Here at Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT), we not only strive to provide quality fashion education to our students but also undertake efforts to ensure their overall personal development through a wide variety of extra curricular activities.

NCFT aspires to provide the solid platform to students, where they can polish their skills and knowledge and move on to achieve success in life. And judging by the demand and success of our graduates it seems we are continuing in the right direction.

Graduate Fashion Show

The highlight of the BFD course is the Graduate Fashion Show Project organized by the final semester students as part of their Fashion Show course under the BFD curriculum.

What makes the show unique is that in addition to designing their own collection for the event, the overall planning, fund generation, logistics management and execution of the event is done by the organizing batch of students themselves. Moreover, their individual creations from the Creativity Round are also awarded grades by a panel of eminent judges which ultimately decides the final University grades.

The event not only examines critical and theoretical approaches to Fashion Designing within and outside the wider boundaries of cultural practice and production but also offers specialist training and experience in practical aspects of designing, display and exhibitions along with other areas of fashion such as photography, choreography, modeling etc.

The graduating students have organized the following Graduate Fashion Shows till date:

  • The Journey of Fashion I  (2005)
  • The Journey of Fashion II (2006) – “The Flame of Innovation”
  • The Journey of Fashion III (2007) – “City En Vogue”
  • The Journey of Fashion IV (2008) – “Gush of Divine”
  • The Journey of Fashion V (2009) – “Xenium of Enchante”
  • The Journey of Fashion VI (2010) - Style Carnival

All of our Graduate Fashion Shows have been attended by various eminent national and international personalities from the field of fashion, glamour, business and other walks of life along with the general public. The shows have also received prominent coverage in all leading national print and electronic media and have served to raise the profile of fashion as an academic degree and as a profession in Nepal.
